"The day I got the opportunity to be a teacher!"
Hey guys, welcome to another blog! Today in the blog, I want
to share my experience of getting an opportunity for becoming a teacher and not
just this but also in front of a camera that was recording the whole session!
Let’s start the blog…
But before starting I would want
you all to know that I was in a "TEACH FOR INDIA" classroom it is an
organization from which teachers came and taught us and apart from studies we
did a lot of activities and we used to enjoy in the class with studies. We were
in the Tenth class when our class performed well among all the Teach for India
Classrooms in Delhi, and hence we got the chance to get recorded to share our
life in a day!
It was
the end of the class tenth, when our teacher called me and one of my friends
"VIVEK", to tell us that you will have to be the teacher tomorrow;
and after listening to this I was shocked that I will have to teach tomorrow,
and I don't have any idea "how to teach!" But then Vivek and our
teacher encouraged me and then in the night we prepared our lessons, we had to plan on subject “Social Science”. It was morning and I was checking all of my notes and
then I went to school. The first thing I saw in the class was the camera which
made me nervous, then mics were given to us and it was all set. Cameras were
on, the mics were on, and we started the class. We started the class by doing
meditation and while the whole class was meditating we were preparing the
blackboard. We started the lesson and everything went well, there were
instances where I did some mistakes but then my classmates helped me. It was a
session with discussion, teamwork, questions, and answers. In the end, we did
the feedback session and that was how ended the class. I will share the YouTube
link below so you can see how the class was and don't forget to give your
valuable feedback.
After
the class, we did a reflection session about how we felt and how was the class!
I would also want to share some of my experiences with you all; at the first, I
was afraid about teaching and doing mistakes but the class was very cooperative
and helpful, everyone helped a lot, and there was a time when I forgot the
spelling of "neighborhood", but then Vivek helped me at that time and
at that time I realized that we shouldn't be afraid of mistakes but learn from
them. I was also afraid of the camera but when the time passed, the fear went
away! The feedback session was also good because we got to know about our
qualities were good at and the qualities we have to work upon. I think it was a
good experience and everything went well. I am thankful to my teacher who
thought I would be able to do it and also to my classmates who helped a lot!
At last,
I would want to tell you that being a teacher isn't easy. After all, you have
to plan lessons, get ready for the questions and the answers which you will
have to give, maintain the class from start to end because the excitement level
decreases if the topic is boring, and much more.
I will share the link to the video, you can go and watch the
video, and don't forget to give your feedback. If any of my classmates are
reading this blog then share your experience in the comments, this blog is very
late to publish but I wanted to share my experience hence it is here. Don’t
forget to comment, see you in the next blog; Thanks for reading!
