'When I gave the JEE Mains Exam!"

The Joint Entrance Exam is one of the most important exams for all the students who want to pursue engineering! Today we will discuss about this exam and I would also be sharing my experience with this exam…

The people who have taken science stream (with Maths) in their senior secondary classes and want to pursue engineering attend this exam. This exam consists of three sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Math. There are 90 questions, 30 questions for each of the subjects. We have to attempt only 75 questions of which 60 questions are MCQs based and 15 numerical based questions! We have 3 hours to attempt the questions. This exam is held 2 times every year, it was held 4 times in the year 2021. We are allotted ION digital zones where we have to go for this examination. This was broadly about the exam and people who are going for this examination already know this information. So let's start with my experience when I went for this examination.

It was the month of September when the date was fixed for the JEE Mains, it was a rainy day and at my place, the roads were water-logged. My shoes and pant were wet with dirty water, but then also I went for the examination. It was around 25-30 kilometers far from my place and I reached there 1 hour before the entry time. Some people were reading books and some were solving questions and doing practice for the examination at the entry gate. Everyone was looking in full confidence. After looking at them I thought, "The exam is going to be very hard!" after some time, announcements were going on for the entry and also for the things (pen, admit card, passport size photo, and Adhaar card for identification) that were allowed inside the examination hall. I went inside and they gave me an N95 mask and told me to change my mask there only, after the process of verifying, they told me my room number and after the process of student recognition, they told me my seat number. We were given loose sheets for rough work and the exam went for 3 hours. Those 3 hours were the toughest because our whole future depends on them. After the exam, we have to submit our loose sheets and then leave the place. After a few days, we get our results, which come in the percentile on which we get our colleges.

Some people are in confusion about the difficulty of the exam. So I would like to tell you that the exam's difficulty depends on our preparation. The exam's difficulty is inversely proportional to our preparation for the exam. The higher the preparation and the lower the difficulty we get. One tip for the exam will be doing the numerical questions the most and with limited time which will lead to proper time management with correct answers. Another thing I would like to tell you is that don't just do wild guesses in the MCQs because at that time our brain starts thinking, "if this option would be right then I will get +4 marks but if this option goes wrong then we will get only -1!” This was something that I did but when the answers were uploaded and I checked my answers then I got to realize that guesses are not always right. You should leave the question if you are in doubt but don’t do wild guesses. You will all be thinking of my result, then I would like to tell you that I got a very average percentile (not very good and very bad, somewhere in between)!

This would be all for the blog, all the best to the people who are going to give their JEE Mains Exam, don't be in tension just keep doing revisions and practice the numerical-based questions! If you have any queries or if you want to add something you can comment below! Let’s hope for the best! Thanks for reading!
