"Throwback To Online Classes!"
It was March 2020, when I was getting ready for school. It was my last exam of class 11th. It was the exam of the subject "Computer Science". I was excited and somehow nervous about the exam because it was a new subject for me! I reached the school and got to know that the exam has been canceled due to covid-19, after hearing this, me and my classmates became very happy and we went back to our homes. At the end of March, we got our result and we got promoted to class 12th. Now studying in normal mode/offline classes couldn’t be possible so there was a new way to study “ONLINE CLASSES”.
It was April 2020, and we were
requested to download Zoom, Google Meet for further studies. We were very
excited about the class because it was a very new concept for us and then we
had our first online class on zoom, we joined the meeting and our teacher
started teaching but there was an issue that was "we were not able to hear anything",
this was confusing because we could see but couldn't hear anything. Then we
learned how to "connect to audio” to hear the meeting. It was really fun
to attend the meeting and learning in some unique ways. Some teachers used pdfs to
teach, some used MS PowerPoint, some used MS Word, and some used
whiteboards to teach. Every teacher had their unique ways to explain the topics
and make us understand.
We all
had some students in our class who always entertain the whole class; now they
joined the class and they were always ready to make us entertain, so they used
the tools to draw and make certain shapes and figures and whenever the class
used to be boring, then the people used this method to entertain the class. But
then after some time, the teacher learned how to stop all this; now whenever
anyone tries to do this, his/her was displayed on the screen (my name was also
displayed once when I tried this). We enjoyed online classes because it was fun
to study and whenever there was a breakdown of the class, some students used to
entertain.
Now as I have told only the fun that we had in the online classes, people would think that we only enjoyed the class but not used study, now I would like to tell you that you are wrong because studying in online mode isn't as easy as we study in normal/offline mode. Some topics were really hard to understand in the online class, some topics were very long and as the time passed, the interest rate decreased. There were problems related to the internet, there were problems related to smartphones, some students didn't have smartphones, not just the students faced the problems but the teachers faced problems too.
The
teachers also used to face some problems in online classes: Poor connectivity
was one of the problems which almost everyone had suffered, sometimes no
electricity led to no classes, some teachers didn't have computers so they used
to teach using their smartphone only and smartphone's battery was also one of the problems , the teachers also get exhausted while doing so
many classes. Sometimes there were problems with their schedule and most
probably they had to complete the syllabus before time which was a difficult
task!
There
was a shocking time when we heard the news of offline exams which made the
students very angry saying “online classes and offline board exams, why?” and
with time the board exams were cancelled but we gave our pre-board in school and
some of the practical exams too. After a few months, we got our result, some
students were satisfied with their marks but some were not satisfied. I also
didn't got the marks that I expected but I was like "be happy with what you got!"
With
time, we all got to know a few points like we all understood the value and
importance of online classes. We all had so much to learn from online classes
like time management, self-study, proper use of our schedule, but being at our
home and being at one place made some of us lazy. But with time laziness will
also go soon and on this good note, I would like to end this blog. No hate to
anyone in this blog, I will always respect and support the teachers and the
hard work done by them! Online classes wouldn't be easy without the handwork
done by both the teachers and the students, we should appreciate this time and
always be proud that we never stopped our learning!
At last, I would want you all to comment on the best part of
this blog and also comment on one of the best parts of your online classes and also don't forget to share this blog!
Stay safe and stay healthy! Thanks for reading!
