Pollution
Hey there, today in this blog, I wanted to talk about
pollution, pollution that is spreading at a very high rate and it is destroying
people's lives. Let us get started!
There
is a phrase, which says, “If there is profit to one then there will be a loss
to others." In the case of our lives, if we need development, then there
will be heights of pollution. We can say 'Tit for tat.' Now there will be
questions arising in your mind that 'how can we develop?' the answer to this
question is easy if you want to develop and it leads to pollution then you
should grow more and more tress day by day. Let us get into the definition and
types of pollution. Keep following!
Pollution
refers to the addition of contaminating substances to the natural environment
resulting in an adverse impact on the environment. Pollution can be of
different types depending on which part of the environment it is affecting.
There are mainly three types of pollution:
Air pollution: The type of pollution in which, there are
harmful or poisonous effects of a substance, which is introduced in the air. An
example of air pollution can be ‘burning crackers.’
Water pollution: The type of pollution in which, harmful
substances or contaminants enter water bodies. An example of water pollution
can be 'throwing factory wastes into rivers.'
Noise pollution: The type of pollution in which, there is an
excessive sound that can have deleterious effects on human health and
environmental quality. Example of noise pollution can be ‘listening to loud
music in sound systems.’
There are more types of pollution like light pollution,
plastic pollution, thermal pollution, visual pollution, radioactive
contamination, soil pollution.
After the types of pollution, I want you all to
think of the amount of pollution you see in your daily life, share your answers
in the comment section.
As we,
all know Delhi is the capital of India, and it is one of the most populated
states in India and not just a populated but polluted city too. People say that
we are developing thus there is a lot of pollution, this can be one of the
reasons for pollution in Delhi, let us think of more reasons and again share
answers in the comment section. Some of the reasons can be “the pollution coming
out of the factories, the pollution because of vehicles running all day on the
busy roads.” These reasons can be applied in any month of the year but there is
a month in the year when Delhi becomes a gas chamber and this is the month of
Diwali. This festival is hugely celebrated in India and in the celebration of
this festival people light up their house and some people spend a lot of their
money on buying crackers. The people who celebrate Diwali by burning cracker
shows a lot of happiness and craze but have you thought of the environment?
Have you thought of the causes and effects of pollution?
The pollution is
causing one big problem of global warming; making the earth warmer and the
changing of climate every year. The glaciers are melting day by day, which is
causing the long-term freshwater to melt into rivers. I think our future is in
danger, isn't it? What are we doing to save it?
Let us
get into some geography of the planet! We live on planet Earth, where water
covers 71%, and the land covers 29% of total Earth’s surface. It means that we
have 29% of land and the total population of Earth is 7.7 billion; now imagine
how many trees would be needed to produce much oxygen for all the people of the
world, and then imagine the deforestation, which is ending all the forests and
wildlife. Being human, what are we doing to our planet Earth? Are we healing it
or are we giving it more injuries? There is one line written in my English book
that says "We have not inherited this earth from our forefathers; we have
borrowed it from our children." This simply means that we borrowed Earth
from our children and we should return it safe and with no harm.
If I specifically
talk about Delhi then people are not living every day but they are dying every
day by living in a gas chamber. The people have changed the weather conditions
in the capital of India, now the winters come late, the rainy season comes for
a short period and the summers are for a longer period. The only reason for
pollution is the people, now the people are becoming the most dangerous animals
for Earth! Some people are working every day to make a better world, but at the
same time, some people are making a harder future.
I
wanted to share some news that “by the end of 2019, Earth’s temperature will
increase by 4-6 degrees centigrade, which will lead in doubling the amount of
co2 in the atmosphere.” We can say that global warming is rising at a very high
rate, it is destroying biodiversity, and I think if this continues then life
will be impossible on Earth, but we have the time to improve and to take decisions.
Let’s
not blame each other because it will only lead to conflicts between people,
and we don’t have to fight but we have to save our planet, so lets come
together and take initiative steps to neglect the pollution from our Earth!
In the
end, I just want to discuss some solutions of this pollution, let us share our
answers to this question “what am I doing to save the planet Earth?” in the
comment section. Is planting trees a good idea? Yes! Planting trees every day
and taking care of your plants will give oxygen, greenery and a solution to
pollution. Now, will you plant trees? The ban on plastic polythene had stopped
soil pollution to some extent. These steps show that there are people who are
working for a better future. Let us show
some humanity, save this planet from all types of pollution, and make it safe
for future generations to live on the planet Earth. Do not look for mars to
live, just make our Earth better and make it the best planet to live in!
All of us almost always know that, given the current situation, the implications are grievous & yet, we keep on indulging in blame games or be indifferent until peril comes knocking.
ReplyDeleteWe've been talking about all feasible solutions and most of us are aware of them, the ones that you have, to some extent, pointed out in this blog.
I feel, a radical shift in mindsets is the puzzle piece we've been looking for. So much knowledge, all the available technical skills, the resources, all wasted due to the lack of will.
Great job on picking up yet another bone of contention!
Keep writing...
Thank you bhaiya!
